Our Mission
To introduce middle school-aged minority students to the profession of architecture through its Summer CAMP and other mentoring programs.
Our History
The Cincinnati Architectural Mentoring Program (C.A.M.P.) is a volunteer organization founded in 2005 by five passionate and dedicated architectural professionals: Michael Burson, David Kirk, Michael Mauch, Michaele Pride, and Alan Warner.
C.A.M.P.'s week-long summer program hosts approximately forty 8th & 9th graders who participate in design studios with students and faculty from the University of Cincinnati's School of Architecture and Interior Design, and with local professionals. Field trips to tour significant buildings and local architecture firms are also a part of the program.
Summer C.A.M.P. and was created as a collaborative effort with the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Midwestern Region of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), the University of Cincinnati School of Architecture and Interior Design (SAID), and Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS).

Our first camp was hosted in 2006 for 24 students.

At the 2014 annual AIA Grassroots Conference, AIA Cincinnati was recognized with a Diversity Recognition Award for our Summer C.A.M.P. program.

In July 2020 we hosted our first virtual summer program.
Our Board of Directors
C.A.M.P.'s board members hope to inspire young people to become excited about the impact that architecture and building design have on society, and on the quality of life.
Our long-term aim is to help increase diverse representation in architecture schools and in the architecture profession.
