Have you ever stopped to think about what it would mean to shape the world?

The summer camp offered by the Cincinnati Architectural Mentoring Program (C.A.M.P.) is a great way to explore life as an architecture student!

Architects design the world we live in and affect every part of our daily lives. The camp is a five-day, Monday-Friday immersive camp experience for young students who will be entering 8th or 9th grade in the fall, followed by a project exhibition, presentations and graduation celebration on Saturday.  A two-hour orientation for students and parents will be held online on Sunday, July 10th to introduce you to our program before it begins.  During Summer CAMP students will be introduced to the discipline of architecture; learn about influential architects of color; and be given instruction on drawing and design through presentations and hands-on group projects.

The Cincinnati Architectural Mentoring Program (C.A.M.P.) is pleased to be able to present this unique experience in partnership with the local chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA); the University of Cincinnati's School of Architecture and Interior Design (SAID), and through a partnership with The Children's Hospital. We hope that you can join us!

overview

The summer camp experience offered by the Cincinnati Architectural Mentoring Program or C.A.M.P. is a great way to explore life as an architecture student and be introduced to the profession of architecture. The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal will be the program partner this summer, hosting the students for a tour of the amazing building. The students will also use the building as the site for their own design project to be located outside of the historic building.

Architects design many buildings in the world around us, places where we work, play and live. This camp is a five day, Monday through Friday, immersive experience for young students who will be entering the 8th or 9th grade in the fall of 2024. During the Summer CAMP students will be introduced to a variety of design techniques and exercises, learn about influential architects and tour major works of architecture in Cincinnati. Field trip transportation, lunches and snacks will be provided.
